Individual Therapy
No matter how old we get or how much life we experience, we are never immune from life’s challenges or frustrations. Whether you are concerned about symptoms of mental illness, are looking for support as you navigate life transitions, or are simply wanting to improve your overall mental and emotional well being, therapy can help you create a more fulfilling life.
I especially enjoy working with adults who are curious about getting to know themselves better at any stage of life. This includes learning about and leaning into aspects of your identity, identifying and work towards creating a life you’re excited about leading, or simply wanting to improve your relationship with yourself.
Much of my education and training focuses on treating trauma, specializing in religious, spiritual, and faith-based trauma in clients of all backgrounds, including LDS-faith based concerns and LGBTQ+ folks. I have additional training in trauma treatment for first responders, those who have experienced natural disasters, and childhood adverse experiences.
Couples Therapy
Every relationship has bumps along the way. In fact, arguments and fights in relationships are typical and can be healthy —when we know how to argue well! Couples therapy provides a space to explore and repair hurts, improve your ability to communicate and argue effectively, and increase your overall relationship satisfaction - no matter how long you’ve been together.
I have experience working with couples of all backgrounds and orientations. I use the most up-to-date, researched, evidenced-based practices to ensure you are getting the best care available to you.
Whether you are having trouble connecting, want to ensure you’re maintaining your relationship well, are preparing to get married, or anything in between I’m here to help.
Teens (16+)
Life as a teenager is rough, and at times parents and caregivers may feel at a loss for how to help their teen. Therapy provides a space for teens to learn more about themselves, gain skills that will improve their mental and emotional health throughout the life time, and improve their relationships with their parents, caregivers, family members, friends, and themselves.
I strive to empower my teen clients to work towards goals that are important to them. We work together to identify how therapy may be helpful, including in learning tools for communication and conflict resolution, emotional regulation skills, and getting to embrace their authentic selves.
It’s important that teens have a say in whether or not they attend therapy and who their therapist is. It’s likewise important that teens maintain a level of privacy and confidentiality in therapy to facilitate honesty and openness in the therapeutic process. I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to establish what that looks like, how to maintain safety, and provide tools parents and caregivers can use to help their teen lead a fulfilling life.
